Remembering Aquila

John 14:27 - Peace, I leave with you. My peace, I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.

On Saturday, June 18th, Aquila died in Butte Creek in Eagle Point, just behind the Butte Creek Mill. His drowning brought together many community members, including several families from Knox, on Wednesday evening this week (6/22/22) for a candlelight vigil by the creek. Aquila was a member of Mrs. Gamble’s kindergarten class last year and was additionally taught by many Knox teachers, including Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Burns, Mrs. McReynolds, and many more. He was remembered for his sweetness, his love for Christ, and much more.

Pictures and memories are beings shared on the Knox Parents Facebook group, and Mrs. Tracy Gonzalez is compiling pictures and memories into a scrapbook for the family. If you wish to participate in any of this, please contact the school office.

Please remember Glenn and Jennifer and the Harris children in your prayers. You can support the family at the following links: mealtrain and gofundme.

Aquila’s online obituary can be found here. The family has requested a scholarship fund be created in Aquila’s honor, and donation options are available at the above link. Details on the scholarship fund are still being worked out.
